How do I Cut Proscar? (pics included)

I got a prescription for Proscar, but my Doctor only gave me 6 pills with a sig of "take 1/5 daily", for a total of 30 days' worth, with a refill of 5. That is a total of 6 months worth of finasteride. In any case, it's much much cheaper. At a pharmacy I trust (where I work), 6 pills is 20 bucks. So instead of $60/month, it's $20/month.

yes that is the recognised way to divide this awkward little shape into five

many here simply chop it into 4 for convenience (giving 1.25mg)
