How Dangerous Is It To Accidently Take Different Doses Of Finasteride?

Everyone who cuts their finasteride pills can probably relate to this issue. What I'm wondering is wether it is dangerous to take a few milligrams of finasteride more/less daily, considering you don't get the exact same dosage every time.

I hope I articulated my question clearly lol.

Thanks guys.

Nothing to worry about whatsoever IMO. Some people take more than 1mg but there isn't much difference between that and 5mg: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10495375

"Efficacy was demonstrated for all end points for finasteride at doses of 0.2 mg/day or higher, with 1 and 5 mg demonstrating similar efficacy that was superior to lower doses. Efficacy of the 0.01 mg dose was similar to placebo. No significant safety issues were identified in the trials."

The differences are going to be very minimal anyways, likely only +/- 0.25mg either way and that's being really sloppy (if you're trying to cut into 1mg).

how much difference is there between seen 0.3 MG per day and 1 MG per day?

I'm scared to do 1 MG per day because of sexual side effects

Take a look at this Propecia DHT inhibition chart.

Don't take it as gospel truth though. It's specific to each person and case. If you're worried about sides, you have a couple options.

1) Start on a low dose, as you said. 0.25mg may suffice depending on your severity of hairloss. Though if you're losing ground quickly I'd advise at least starting with 0.5mg.

2) Get your hormones tested! Have you done that yet? I saw a study the other day (I think it was posted somewhere on this forum the other day) about there being a correlation between more severe side effects and low testosterone when using finasteride. Don't take this as gospel truth either but there was a study done.
Hormones to test: Test, Free Test, SHBG, LH, FSH, Prolactin, Progesterone, E2, TSH, T3, T4, fT3, fT4, DHT, DHEA-S

Edit: And don't get too hung up on side effects. Despite it seeming like everyone suffers greatly, you're viewing the situation from a warped perspective. Most who get success from these hairloss drugs don't feel the need to frequent forums such as these at all (and rightly so!).

Thanks for your thorough answer man. The only side effect I have as of right now is a stuffy nose, but I'm not entirely surely if it is related to finasteride or not. Thoughts?

I've never heard of that being a side and can't imagine how they'd have any relation. I'd doubt they have any correlation, though can't be certain.

It is stated on drugs.com that it is an uncommon side effect. But my country and my doctor's deny that fact. I'm hoping it ain't related
