How Common Are The Side Effects Of Propecia? Is It All Worth Taking The Pill?

So I've been to my hair doctor recently and he told me that I have the option to either take Propecia tablets twice a week (as my DHT levels are naturally low and hence my hair loss process is not aggressive) or he could manufacture a foam with 6% minoxidil that includes finasteride which I can rub on to my scalp. Now the Propecia pills are much cheaper than the foam given that I only need two a week.

My question is: He did mention some of the side effects such as; Impotence, reduced libido, and in the rare case male breast cancer. I had the feeling that he tried to scare me in a way to go for the foam option instead as I believe he may possibly make some money off commission if I go for the foam. What do you all think? How common are the side effects of Propecia? Also given that I only need two pills a week, does that make the side effects even less common?

Thank you!

You can buy minoxidil as a foam over the counter.

As far as I know there is no convincing evidence on the relative efficacy between topical and digested finasteride.

The side effects are reported as rare. If you feel them you should probably stop.

Propecia pills twice a week are fine, or you can just buy a pill cutter and take one part of a pill a day.

Insane horror story permanent side effects are rare. But if they do happen to you you are literally fucked.
