Hi I was balding from 17, took finasteride at 18, was very effective but too many sides which I still havent recovered and its been over a year easily since stopping the medication. I am 21 now and am looking into hair system. The thing with hair system though is that treatment for your hair is gone, you cant use minoxidil as you will be wearing a system for 2 weeks at once.
I am fine with it, but I am imagining a scenario where I take the plunge and start wearing hair system but then 4-5 years later a better treatment come for hair that prevent hair loss but now due to lack of minoxidil for my hair, I am completely bald under my hair system and that treatment is only effective for people who still have some hair left (for example the treatment prevents further hair loss like finasteride but without the sexual sides).
So if I still had hair left (NW3) due to minoxidil, I could just get a hair transplant and also prevent further hair loss with the new treatment thus have beautiful head of hair. But due to using hair system, I am in reality a NW7 or something and this treatment is useless.
What do you guys think, how possible is it that better treatment or even a cure like thing come for hair in the near future?
I got the idea for this thread by looking into "New research, Studies, Technologies" discussion but I barely lurk around this website, so maybe I am just being very optimistic about potential new treatment, but in reality there is a lot of noise but barely any substance and better treatment and cure is far away in the future? Its nearly 2020 ffs.
Also for those of you wondering why not just take minoxidil, I get really saggy skin from minoxidil and dark circle and I barely notice anything regrowth or maintance (tbh I barely commit to minoxidil for over 2-3 month). I will give minoxidil and derma a try again but I doubt I will get any regrowth and I am NW2-3 right now and am living off toppik. I am only 21 and should not be in University with a cover-up justin bieber hair game, its too much of a headache. I wanna have proper head of hair and only a hair system provides it.
