Been shedding a lot. Not sure if I wanna take finasteride yet. How bad am I overall? This is about a foot under 5 bright lights.

That looks like crown thinning to me. I'd go see a dermatologist or specialist and do something about it now.

Sorry for that. If the scalp redness is not a lighting issue it actually reminds me of my scalp before my seborrhea dermatitis became full blown which was during the earlier stage of my hair loss. I would not be surprised if you are experienced excessive itching/scratching? Schedule yourself a doctor visit to have a more qualified and comprehensive evaluation ASAP and look into keto/nizoral.
