I currently use folligen spray, emu oil, and folligen shampoo. I will soon be adding in spironolactone 2% and will be applying this to my vertex and hairline along with the folligen at night. Is this ok or do I need to add something else in???? I have so far had great results with folligen as in a complete stoppage of shedding. Pretty pumped about that. :D Anyways what else could I use besides propecia and minoxidil. Used minoxidil before twice (5-7 months) and got nothing at all. Not really balding yet but have really thin hair. Any advice would be great! Don't really wanna begin propecia quite yet. How's spironolactone???

Your going to need spironolactone because it's the only DHT inhibitor in your regimen. It's imperative that you add a DHT inhibitor to help stop the source of the problem. Folligen's been shown to be great for irritation but in many other regards it's been proven insufficient unless used in conjunction with a variety of other treatments.

If you're ever going to use Propecia, the sooner the better.

But spironolactone may just do the trick.

Solid regimine IMO. You might want to use Nizoral shampoo.

if youre not balding, what are you doing on this forum? if your hair is *thinning*, you are balding. if its just thin, i.e. it always has been and the top is the same as back and sides, you dont need to be here or using anything.

thinningguy-uk,
What are you talking about? I have very thin hair but the point is to stop it from getting worse as it will not take long before hairloss becomes a serious problem. That is what most of us are doing anyways. Preventing things from getting worse. I mean regrowing hair is tough, but even the proven treatments just prevent things from getting worse. The lucky ones actually have some regrowth. Anything more than retaining the hair we have and preventing it from getting worse - this is what we have to hold on to and expect!
