Hoping To Get Your Opinions On The State Of My Hair

Hey all--I posted here briefly probably 6 years ago, and then eventually got on finasteride and sort of moved on. I was on finasteride from probably about 21-23 and then off and on for a bit, i.e. not taking it every day till about 25. Honestly, my dermatologist probably prescribed it too easily when I was young. I never really had many sides, if at all.


From around 21-23, my hair went from medium blond to a much darker blond--darker than it had ever been before. The back felt thick and everything was pretty solid.


I've obsessed about possibly losing my hair since I was about 19-20, so at around 25 I decided enough, let's just see what happens. For the last 2.5 years, so even pre dating getting off finasteride in Julyish 2014, my hair has been getting lighter. It feels less dense and thick everywhere, including the back. The sides and upper temples have for sure gotten noticeably thinner. Below are some pictures from over the last few years.


I'd appreciate any comments, advice, analysis, etc. that some of you can provide. Wondering if should get back on finasteride....


I've held out for a while that other things have caused any thinning besides genetics--I've had short and long term memory problems since I was about 19, often experience brain fog. I'd say I've been failing the "pull test" for about 6 years now, but it's gotten worse recently. Thoughts??

First, I appreciate your response.

But really?? Damn, I feel like the sides and corners are noticeably thinner, as is even the back of my head when I go to grab it. I suppose I might just have "thin hair" and it's changing over time...?

If it's noticeable that my sideburns aren't as think, there is minor recession and miniaturization at the temple and just above at the corner, and overall my feels lighter, then there must be some type of change going on right?

Thanks for the input gents. I like to think I'm not crazy here. Any reasons for the hair getting generally thinner/more blonde other than male pattern baldness that have actually been common in this board?

Up along the sides and through the top corners I can definitely tell there has been a change in density and texture.

I'll probably post more pictures soon. The hairline is pretttt much the same, but my volume is worse all over and the front is more blonde and miniaturized.

How often does hairline not change but hairs are more blonde and thin? Thinking of finasteride. My acne has also been shitty this past year, and really two years now with cystic stuff.

Here are some recent ones from this month, as well as some from 2015 for comparison sake. I think one has a snapchat filter on it--I've found that some filters make your hair look really thin...maybe when it's already thinning?

At any rate, I think there's some clear miniaturization at the left temple. My hair overall is going back to how it was in my 5-18 years as being more blonde compared to when it got darker through college. I'm late 20s now. I've noticed volume in my hair is almost non existent. It was much better a few years ago. Gel is barely noticeable when I put it in my hair now, almost like it doesn't hold.

Also, I've noticed other body hair like my armpits and pubic hair feeling very soft over the last 1-2 years. It used to be course.

Thoughts??
