Sorry for the large amount of threads recently, this will be the last one for a while. I need to try and stop thinking about hairloss so much. But, how bad is this for roughly 3.5 years? Rapid loss?

Slight recession but not rapid by any means. Get on finasteride.

Looks ever so slightly worse but not rapid loss at all. Rapid loss is losing a Norwood level in one year.

Thanks for the responses, also do you guys notice any change in density? The center of my hairline has been worrying me a lot recently, can see quite a bit of scalp through it under certain lighting.

If it's worrying you then what are you doing to prevent future loss. I can see what you are talking about.

Nothing as of yet, I'm worried about the side effects, and to be honest still am perplexed as to why this hair loss is occurring. Not a single person in my family has had hair loss this young, and although I know this sounds like a reach, I wonder if there are any environmental factors at play. I only have one cousin (whom I share maternal grandparents with) that has experienced some hair loss. I don't know him too well, but based on the photos I've seen he was about a NW2 in his early 20's, and currently is about a NW2.5, NW3 at most, at around 30 years of age. My older brother for example, has no hairloss and still has his full juvenile hairline.

Epigenetics can change the genes so anything is possible. If you are worried about side effects than don't bother with any treatments. If everyone thought like you do, then doctors would not bother prescribing medication. You have to understand the medical field is all about risks and benefits. Actually so is life in general. If you value your hair, you will eventually decide to give in and take the risks but if not you will live with anxiety and do nothing.

I definitely understand what you're saying, I guess I'm just not ready to make the jump and for me the risk is worth taking. Also a bit of a side note, but going back to what I was saying before, how would I tell if the top has thinned out a bit (as in diffusely) without buzzing my hair?

You would have to see a doctor who has a hair densitometer.

I saw a derm once whom took a quick look through my hair and there's nothing wrong but he could perscribe me Keto if I'm worried since I have dandruff as well. But I wasn't satisfied with his answer since there clearly is loss going on and he barely took a look. He did say something about seborrhoeic dermatitis though, and I've read that can cause hairloss. I often get pimples, redness, and itching in this region. If it's worth anything, I haven't shampoo'd my hair for a few months ever since I read about sulfates/parabens and their harms. The ones without it are too expensive.

Why don't you go outside and form some hobbies and interests outside of problems that doesn't exist.

Who obsess' over this? What are you obsessing over. Better yet what are you worrying about.

Noticed a little recession a while back which has only gotten more and more noticeable, and since then I've been thinking about it a lot more than I should. Even when partaking in things I enjoy it comes up in my mind. I'm worried about it getting worse. Obsessing over seeing if there is any way to regrow it, as irrational as that sounds.

I know it's nothing major, but it's still bothering me.

Also on a side note, could the decrease in density be due to T.E.? Been having a bit of stress recently and am Vitamin D3 deficient by quite a bit.

Dude judging by that other pic you posted a while back 100% you have androgenetic alopecia. Get on the propecia before you hit norwood 2 and are truly phucked. D3 and stress have nothing to do with it.

My dad started balding at 35 and went to norwood 5 and my grandad on both sides were thinned out fullheads when they died. I was a diffusing norwood 3 at 21. Genetics are complicated and are useless for making accurate assumptions on this. You are clearly balding when comparing what you've posted.

Only low testosterone beta cucks get sides. Side effect of each increase in norwood is one point lower in the quality of female you'll be able to penetrate.

How many years did it take for your dad to reach a NW5 from age 35?

Around a decade. Completely different pattern to mine too, he lost from the crown first which opened up towards the centre and never had a receded hairline, it thinned away in a straightish line at the front. No losses in around 10 years since he went full norwood 5.

Mine is diffusing in a norwood 5 with receding as a norwood 3.

Yeah I've accepted that I have male pattern baldness, no doubt about that. What I meant by the Telogen Effluvium comment was recently I've noticed shedding that's worse than usual, and my hair has been feeling thinner (could also be due to growing it out though). This is different to the past few years where I've kept my density but my temples have been slowly going back. Coupling this with the Vitamin D3 deficiency and perhaps some stress, is what made me thing of Telogen Effluvium. Sorry about the confusion.

It probably has nothing to do with it. I had the same issue when I was 21, I was a norwood 3 with a very thick area behind it but from 21 to 22 the whole norwood 5 area thinned drastically until I got on propecia but the norwood 3 shape stayed the same.

You need propecia. If you have a D3 deficiency then take D3, but that is unlikely to have anything to do with it.
