I honestly think my hair as been like this for a few years now my friends said the same thing. Is this the beginning of male pattern baldness or is it just the "swirl"

Picture is not clear, but it seems there are signs of miniaturization.
Honest opinion: don't panic! everybody, almost every man has low density in a small area in the crown, which may show more or less in pictures , depending on how oily is the hair, the intensity of light in the room, the direction of the light, etc.
