Hi fellas,

I know this topic has been done before but I just want some feedback on the solution I have been thinking of trying. I am going to see my doctor on tuesday and get a script for some spironolactone when/if I am ready to mix my own.

So, I was thinking of mixing the crushed spironolactone into emu oil and alcohol.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

A respected doctor did a trial a while back that found topical spironolactone to be more effective when it was applied in a cream, rather than in an alcoholic solution.

thanks for the tip bryan, i have read a few of your posts regarding spironolactone cream but i still can't get a definitive vehicle in which to mix the spironolactone tabs into.

so, will any cream do the trick? i have some vitamin E cream with lanolin and also have some tea tree cream available. should i give these a try?

thanks again

Stoja, talk to the pharmacist at one of your local drugstores and ask him what he recommends for such a cream base. Be honest with him about what you want to do with it. Ordinarily I'd recommend "Dermovan", but that's not being sold anymore. He'll probably think of an alternate cream base you could use.

Ok thanks Bryan,

I will see the doctor and pharmicist next week sometime. I will report back with what they have recommended..
