Holocaust museum shooting

I was at my office which is just up the street from the museum at the time. Very sad day here in DC. There are always shootings going on, but this one really made me upset.

Well, it's a big country. The statistical probability of sh*t happening is rather high. Instead of paying attention to the isolated cases, you have to look at the tendencies of the general public.

I guess thats why they charged him with that weird "Discharging a weapon in a federal building" thing. Murder alone doesn't carry the death penalty, that offense does.
Personally, I think he wants to die. I say throw him in a DC prison with a bunch of brothers and let him rot.

I'm not sure the shooting of Tiller qualifies as a hate crime in the sense that abortion docters or women's health providers or whatever you want to call them are not a group protected under hate crimes law, but I know what you mean. Lots of extremist violence lately. There were also shootings of police in Pittsburgh (?) very recently as well.

Who told you murder doesn't carry the death penalty? And why would discharging a firearm in federal facility carry the death penalty and not murder?

He was actually charged with murder and "killing in the course of possessing a firearm at a federal facility".
