High testosterone & dutasteride

Hello I'm 28 and I have been slowly receeding since I was 21.

I've always been on propecia and Kirkland minoxidil foam

last November I decided to try a new regime after being put on to a hair loss consultant dr Steven Whiteson who claims to have a topical solution that blocks both types of DHT.

i also decided to switch to dutasteride.

during the consultation I had blood tests done and it showed me to have high testosterone.

since starting the new regime I regrew some hairs on my hair line up until April this year when things started deteriating. So I've had 4-5 months progress using the new regime.

since April my hairline has got a lot worse and I think also the crown has thinned out abit but it's not too noticeable, I'm wondering if it's just a shed or permanent hairloss.

does it seem strange to have a shed 4-5 months after starting?

also I've read people who high testosterone mixed with dutasteride can be just as bad as it increases scalp testosterone by 150%

i can't decide what to do?

should I come off dutasteride and go back on finaseride or should I ride it out?

It worries me that dutasteride is known as the hairline destroyer

many thanks

Hmm. I'm considering moving to dutasteride. One thing's for sure - my hairline is already going on Finasteride anyway. The question is - will dutasteride make it go faster? I don't know. Only one way to find out :/

Endure the shed. It is normal to shed 4-5 months after starting. You must continue the drug for at least a year before judging its efficacy.
For most people, our follicles aren't sensitive to Testosterone, only DHT. But for some, their follicles may be sensitive to all androgens. Therefore, they go on RU or CB (topical anti-androgen. Works by blocking androgens from reaching your scalp.) I'm willing to bet that the topical DHT-blocker solution your consultant gave you is a scam.

Your hairline is going away because finasteride is not enough. Meaning you need to hop on dutasteride. It will not make it go away faster lol

dutasteride giveth, and dutasteride taketh away. Its completely normal to shed in cycles during treatment and come back stronger after each shed. Ride it out for 12 months minimum.

Thank for the replies, I'll stick it out and see what happens, I've tried posting pics but it won't let me from my iPhone is there a forum app I should be using?

The topical DHT blocker that I am using is the same solution that dr hugh rushton of Harley street gives to his patients, the before and after pictures looked good.

Whats RU? Should I be using it aswell?
