Hey just wanted to introduce myself etc say hi and that hey i understand how a lot of you feel, losing hair going bald etc is no picnic. anyway, here's my story and some questions i have regarding my situation. Right now I'm a 21 yearold male, pretty healthy lifestyle--I play soccer for my college etc, so i'm in fairly good shape and all. To start off with I've always had a very good quality thick set of hair throughout my life, and with that I also had a severe acne problem, more so in my teens but still presistent into my 20s up until very recenty. Anyway, I just finished a 6 month course on accutane to clear that problem up. I know hair loss is a major side effect associated with the drug but here's my situation. I first really started noticing my hair thinning in the shower, pillow etc, about a couple months before i ever was on the drug. Also my hair seems to be thinning entirely just at the crown and along the sides in a typical MBP type pattern no real loss along the back and sides etc. and furthermore MBP does run in my family, my mom's side considerable hairloss while my father, the lucky bastars that he is, has a full set of thick white hair and he's pushing 50 no hairloss in his family. So my sitaution is basically that I am very much considering starting propecia and doing rogaine because i'm pretty sure my hairloss is MBP related. anyway, could anyone give me some advice on this and tell me some of their regimes to mantain their hair etc. I know the Big three as its called is basically propecia minoxidil and something else but could anyone give me any information on that as well? and also are all the side effects about propecia as bad as they are made out to be? i mean i heard horror stories about accutane but if my hair thinning in fact has nothing or very little to do with the drug than i pretty much had no side effects from that besides the regular dry lips etc. but any information on any of these things would be greatly appreciated. I can deal with going bald, but not at 21.
