Hi guys, newbie here.
I have some questions and I know they have been answered here before. But, wadding through 1000s of posts may not be the right solution and I would appreciate up to date answers. Thanks for your patience guys...
Some background: I turned 25 a couple of weeks ago. I've been taking propecia for the past 4.5 years. I'm not sure how much hair I have grown but I have maintained decently. I've been taking Nizoral shampoo as well. I recently added Cod Liver Oil to my regimen.
Within the last 6-7 months, I noticed that the left side of my hairline has thinned a bit. At first I thought it was because of stress.
Anyways I want to be proactive with this before it gets worse and/or doesn't improve.
I've avoided rogaine thus far. Reason: I heard the theory that Propecia levels off in effectiveness after some time. I thought I would turn to rogaine when I absolutely had to.
Now, I am strongly contemplating adding Rogaine Foam to my regimen to A) Hopefully maintain my hairline and B) Hopefully regrow some of the lost hair and fill that line back up.
On to the questions!
1. After reading my mini-background, is it worth adding rogaine foam?
2. Is rogaine foam similar to propecia in how it has to be taken? Does it have to be taken everyday? I was thinking of starting it at 3-4 times a week. Is this wrong?
3. Once I start it, do I have to take it forever?
4. Does the effectiveness of Rogaine level off over time?
5. How long would a bottle of rogaine foam last me if I take it everyday?
6. If you guys think I shouldn't take it, give me some reasons, if possible.
7. I guess I am a "diffuse thinner?" Not sure, I am still learning the lingo. My hair type is loose and straight. I don't have any real thin or bald spots. My hair is just kinda thin all over. It's always been like that. Does rogaine foam respond well to "diffuse thinners?"
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Sorry to annoy you guys with questions you've already had.
