i found this article on HGH. i don't know if i posted it before. i'm going to research it more.

A positive relationship exists between growth hormone and testosterone in men. Enhancing growth hormone levels exerts a positive effect on testosterone levels by bolstering gonadotopins, the hormones that direct the testes to produce testosterone and sperm,37 and by supressing cortisol,38 a hormone antagonistic to testosterone.

Functionally, growth hormone and testosterone work together to build muscle and bone, and to facilitate fat buring.

So it seems as though adding arginine, and getting bigger erections and more semen is happening because you're just producing more testosterone.

What exactly does this have to do with male pattern baldness. If we are producing more test then would'nt there be more DHT, thus more hairloss?
what were you getting at?

you just answered your own question. my point was that alot of people take these things, and are trying to fight hair loss. it seems like it may only be hurting.

although it is definately nice to have the arginine option for special times.

More testosterone does not necessarily mean there would be more DHT. If you increased 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme that binds to testosterone, then you would have more DHT.

yep!

It's Dihyrotestosterone we are worried about not testosterone, so addressing it's conversion from testosterone, through 5-alpha reductase, is the main mode of attack, not simply reducing testosterone.

If increasing circulating IGF-1 caused a rise in 5-alpha-reductase then it would not be in our interests to take L-Arginine (or any compound that stimulates the pituatry).

Doesn't it seem that more testosterone is gonna leave more of it circulating to possibly be converted to DHT? I recall reading certain studies (one on smoking i believe) where it showed that DHT is often lowered when testosterone is lowered, and the reverse as well.

My logic is that very often people increase testosterone and get more body hair. (due to DHT). it's not as though they're increasing the 5-alpha reductase enzyme, and i can't imagine all the DHT is blocked out by finasteride. maybe it is, but to me lowering test. seems like it may help out. i think if it gets too low your penis can shrink.
