Hi everybody, thanx for a great forum.

I'm 20 years old and have been suffering from male pattern baldness (I think it's male pattern baldness, not sure) for 2 years. My hairline has not really changed that much, the hair has just got thinner (2 years ago it was 5cm from my hairline to my eyebrows and it still is). However I have lost some hair on the side (more on the left side) and on the back of my head. First it started to get thinner in front then all over my head. So I guess I'm a diffuse thinner.

Now I decided to do something about my hair, I actuallt went to a doctor two years ago but he said that it was nothing to worry about because back then I really had thick hair. He gave me a special shampoo for my dandruff. Now I need something to help me fight my hairloss, what should I do?

Earlier I have used a shampoo from nisim and a product called recapeen.
Right now I use a shampoo from MinNY and a shampoo called fungal for my dandruff and one with aloe vera.

What more should I do? And sorry for my bad english

Here's a pic with flash from the top and back of my head. The picture from the back actually look a bit worse than it really is because it was in the morning and I had not shower for 2 days and my hair was all greasy.

Pics from my hairline and on the side.

Where on the Narwoodscale would I be?

your hairline has minor thinning. your crown is starting to thin. i would suggest you use finsteride. the original brand name is propecia, but you can buy more generic versions such as finscar or proscar.

Should I also ad minoxidil? I want to regrow the hair that I have lost but I'm affraid it's to late.

too late? man your at the beginning stages of male pattern baldness, you could have very slow progression too meaning it could take a long time for you to go bald. if you are too late, then everyone else is WAYYYY too late.

i wouldn't use minoxidil right away, i would give finasteride 8 months or so before deciding to add a topical that you have to committ to using indefinately. you CAN use minoxidil if you want the best regrowth possible, it just may not be worth the extra effort. i'm using minoxidil when i only inteded on using finasteride, but that's because i broke down and cried like a baby because i couldn't take it anymore hahaha.

yuh finsteride already, it's main purpose is to maintain hair. sounds like he wants to maintain what he's got, should he wait until his male pattern baldness is more evident to decide he likes the way it looks and wants it to stay that way?

Get on Finasteride, your hair is thinning at the crown. It will also give you a good chance of regrowing some hair. Good Luck mate!

Personally, I don't see a big problem with his hair. It may never progress any further.

But its his decision.

Yeah, but what´s the chance that his hair will stay like that without any treatments?
