"Hey, would you believe I used to be balding?"

I was just wondering...has there ever been a case where someone has reacted to only Finasteride and Minoxidil so succesfully, that they can be so confident to ask such a question as "Hey, would you believe I used to be balding?" and people to reply "no way! I'd never be able to tell."

See the success stories section, there are many cases like that there. I've noticed that people don't often consider people in their early to mid thinning stages as balding. I know some people who still say to me that they don't notice my balding, although it's very clear and I'd say I'm badly diffused.

yes I don't think its rare for some one to start propecia early enough right when their hair is miniaturizing(wich i consider balding) to reverse that and then maintain for 10 years. so no one when you have a full head would believe you were balding but you know the truth if you stoped the finasteride.

Well just a little over a year ago before I started treatments, people I asked told me I was definitely balding. I kept getting the glance-toward-the-hairline from people who were talking to me face to face.

One year later, I have my hair all grown out and now I'm getting comments on how thick my locks are. Haven't gotten the hairline stare in a very long time.

I think one's hairloss must be progressed to a certain extent before others with full heads of hair will notice. When I had no hair loss, I used to be somewhat envious of certain guys with mild hairloss. I never noticed cause I didn't look for it back then. My family still thinks I make a big deal out of nothing. I think most of my friends don't even realize I'm loosing it.

Impossible, remember, everything we do is a treatment, not a cure. If you stop your regimen you will lose that hair, thus you will always remain balding, even if you have a full head of hair.

Few days ago, I saw Golden Eye for 4 times. If you check Brosnan correctly you can see that he receded at his temples, although his hair is still pretty thick.

I like hair and to some kind of degree, to me was thick hair almost symbol of attractivity both on girls and guys, like someone admires muscles, I always liked thick and dark hair.

Back to Brosnan - despite my natural sensitivity about hair, I have never noticed (before I started to check hairlines:) that there could be something with Brosnans hairline. The same with Matt Damon, I would NEVER thought (before I realized how balding begins) that he could be losing his hair. I have always subconsciously perceived everyones hair and subconsciously evaluated how good or bad it is but despite that I have never check hairlines, I just perceived hair in general way - color, thickness (you simply see volume) and thats all.

And I think that in the same way others think, if you are Norwood 2 they dont even notice that you are losing your hair, not even you are going bald. Only someone who knows something about balding will notice.

I would say rare. Most are lucky to maintain. Ten years of maintenance now??? Where is that number coming from??? Ten years is wishful thinking.

well if your on the big 3 and you start early b4 hair is noticeably thin and don't have aggressive hair loss i can definitely see sum one on the big 3 maintaining for 10 years. 90 percent of finasteride users after 5 years have same or better hair from baseline from the propecia trials, sumone broke down that chart to to see where the hair count would return back to baseline and it was at the 10 year mark. thats without nizoral and rogain foam for backup. will every one maintain for 10 years on propecia no but you catch it early things look bright.

here is sumone on propecia for 10 years and looks better at 10 years then he did b4 he started. now imagine the big 3 for 10 years i think its not to rare IF you stick to the treatments and not get lazy.

Well it depends on a lot of things. Have i ever seen a Norwood 7 go from bald to a Norwood 1 where everyone wonders if he was ever balding? I dont think that exists. Now might someone go from a 3 to a 2 and maintain so that people forget they were balding? yes im sure it happens. You have to be realistic, treatments today are nothing spectacular especially in terms of regrowing cosmetically significant amounts of hair. I consider cosmetically significant different then what some other people do. I consider cosmetically significant like from a Norwood 4 to a Norwood 2 or 1 where you have almost a teenage hairline. I personally think a 40 year old guy with a teenage hairline looks really cool and very young for there age and from what i hear a lot of girls do to. Lots of girls voted for john kerry because they thought he was cute and for his age he is a pretty attractive man.

I wasn't envious of the fact that they were loosing it, just the way their hair looked in general. Back then, I had a hard time keeping my bangs out of my face, so that may have had something to do with it. Also, I parted my hair in the middle then anyway. My point is if your hair loss is minimal enough, you can still have cool hair, not even necessarily inferior to how it was before. High temples can look masculine and cool as long as they're not too high or noticeably thinning.

Well by john kerry being attractive i wasnt saying I think so. Im saying ive heard girls say that in comparison to bush he is more attractive. John kerry has an amazing head of hair or hes hiding it. I suspect it could be real though he has very little facial hair as seems to be common most of the time for men that dont lose there hair which is why i think the dht thing might actually be somewhat right.
