Hey I am new to this site and I have seen some pretty good advice and it has given me some potential hope as well.

I am a healthy 22 year old who happens to have the unfortunate male pattern baldness run in my family and I am hoping to not follow in those footsteps. I have always had thin hair, to where you could see my scalp even as a young kid, nothing severe just barely so I never paid it much attention. I have always had what is called a widows peak and as of recently I have noticed some thinning around the crown area of my head and I am kind of concerned. I would also like to thicken my hair on top although I do not see that thinning I can see my scalp like I always have been able to and I would just like to get it thicker.

My plan of attack was to get the Mens Rogaine Foam and Nizoral shampoo as well as the generic finasteride pills. I think this would be sufficient for a good 6 months, then see where my results are and go from there. Any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I do not know if my age matters at all or not I figure my body is done changing for anything that deals with male pattern baldness, also does anyone know if hot showers are bad for you as far as hair loss???

No your age doesn't matter. Propecia was tested on 18 year olds. I would talk to a Doctor before starting finasteride though. your plan sounds good.

sounds good, but if it's maintenance u want, don't bother with rogaine just yet. and no, hot showers won't make u go bald.
