hey guys, im 21. well my whole life ive kinda had a weird hair line, even since i was little ive always had a pretty dramatic widows peak. well recently ive started thinking that maybe its starting to get worse. ive been reading up alot and im not sure if im ready to start on Propecia or minoxidil yet. what im wondering this this:

have any of you guys heard of "resthairation" or "haircycle" those shampoos/conditioners that have a bunch of supplements in them, that say they can help you re-grow hair? Has anyone on here ever tried them or something like them? do they even work or is it all BS?

what i want to do is start taking something whether its those 2 products i listed above or maybe something else, and see if i get even a slight improvement, that way if i do i know for sure that im losing my hair and i can get on more serious meds.

if not one of the 2 products i listed above are there any others out there you guys have heard of that work? I could really use your advice with this i feel pretty lost

Stop right there! There is a certain proceedure that you need to do first:

1. Go to dermatologist and make sure you have male pattern baldness.
2. Forget about natural shampoos because the best a shampoo will do for you is remove the DHT containing sebum from your scalp.
3. There are only 3 things that have almost universaly positive effect on hairloss: Nizoral shampoo, Minoxidil and Finasteride. They might work better on some people but until you gave those 3 a try don't look for other solutions since you will probably be just losing ground which is so damn hard to retake.
4. Keep reading this forum as there are alternatives but their success rate is much lower than the big three I just mentioned.

There isn't any shampoo that will stop you going bald. If there was we would all be on it and it would be all over the news.

so its true then that our only real options are Propecia and minoxidil? none of the other stuff can work?

nizoral has an active ingredient that is absorbed and weakly inhibits the binding of DHT ot androgen receptors. It gives about as much help as minoxidil 2% does.

I doubt any other shampoo will help you. if they have copper peptides, it might help a tiny bit, but you'd rinse it out too soon, so it is not worth the price. those shampoos listed sound like scams. i could look them up and tell you if you really want.

just get on finasteride and minoxidil, and if you have the money, get some copper peptides. They help but they don't do more than minoxidil by themself. topical spironolactone is good too.

shampoos removing DHT off the scalp does not do any good at all. only the DHT in the follicle cells matters. finasteride shuts down production and nizoral or spironolactone can help block it. minoxidil and copper peptides just do repair and stimulation.
