Not to be a pain but have a question about these new photos. Taken out in the direct sunshine but on the photo of my side, that area in the upper left where you see a different color, I guess in the crown area, in this area... is this where some thinning or diffusing is happening? Reason asking because the change in color & also possibly seeing some red in there and wondering if this is scalp showing through? Is this something that I should apply rogaine to or propecia might help this?

Thanks everyone.

Sorry, is this my BDD? But that side shot, just wondering if this is something that I should apply rogaine to that area in the crown or maybe propecia might help....Thanks & definitely look forward to responses.

I think your hair looks fine and I'm usually pretty critical. Perhaps your part line is a little wider than normal but it's not something people would notice.

My advice is to use nutritional supplements and put together some D-I-Y topicals and/or shampoos as a preventive measure.

Thanks so much FC for replying. This has been messing with me recently and not to ask another question but on that side shot in the crown area where the color looks a maybe a little more reddish, is this natural or maybe indeed in the early part of thinning? Thanks again.

I've never heard of hair turning a different color prior to falling out. Personally I think it looks normal with the different color, it adds a little flair so don't sweat it, I'm sure it's nothing.

Look into all natural stuff though, someone such as yourself could really benefit from your paranoia by starting a way of living most people will never have the good fortune of considering until after hair loss has occurred.

Thanks again FC. Yeah I'm currently doing supplements such as 1000mcg of Biotin daily and also taking Garden of Life multi-vitamins for men & 2 capsules of Fish Oil for my health. Also I'm underweight at 118lbs & 6'1. Thanks again for taking time to comment.

Well, according to the BMI calculators you are seriously underweight. I don't know your age, but assuming 25, this gives a BMI 15-16. You can test it for yourself to be sure. I have a BMI barely touching 19, just above the lower limit, and this makes me already really thin looking.

You need to get you weight up ASAP, and preferably by eating well and healthy. It is also almost certain that you need supplements, vitamins and minerals too (especially iron, magnesium and zinc) but pay attention to not overdo it. Your hair has no sign of male pattern baldness and it will look even better if you fill in your body reserves with what they seem to need.

Thanks again everyone & actually, umm I'm 36. But my wife and I went through some tough times & money wasn't there. But yes I'm taking the Garden Of Life vitamins now for men & am on Biotin (1000mcgs) and Fish Oil. And yes also, I have been taking some shakes. Thanks for looking at my photos also, greatly appreciate it.

Your hair looks pretty normal to me,maybe a little thinning but hard to tell. I would be quite pleased to have a nice head of hair at 36,put on some weight and stick with the supplements, good luck.:)

Thanks G35guy. I kind of thought that maybe on the side shot that maybe the scalp is starting to shine through with kind of the reddish tint showing up in that crown photo...not sure if maybe minoxidil could help out that area or if focusing on gaining weight and taking my vitamin supplements will maybe help improve my hair. When I get real close-up looking at that crown area, the hair looks kind of small & not fuller & different from the sides...does anyone know is this kind of natural or is this how miniaturization starts?

Thanks again G35 & wish you & everyone the best!

First off you are 36 years old and from your pictures your hair looks good.
I have had a center part for 30 years and with most people who do you can usually see more scalp. Pictures seem like a good idea but can be deceiving depending on the angle and lighting.
If you are 6' 1" and 118 pounds and are not getting a balanced diet not only could it lead to hair loss but a lot of other health issues as well.
If I were you I would stop asking for opinions on the internet and go to a doctor.
Have blood work done to see if you are deficient in nutrients or vitamins that you need.
If you are, go to a good knowledgeable nutritionist and have them put you on the right diet. If you have hair loss caused by some nutritional deficiency It takes at least a year to reverse it.
As for your hair you need to go to a doctor that can intelligently diagnose hair loss.
Most good hair restoration surgeons can do this. Look on line at the IAHRS
all of them are heavily vetted doctors.
When you call ask if they can perform a miniaturization study this will tell you how aggressive your hair loss is.
From everyone who reads your posts (me included) you are going to get a different opinion. Why not go to a few professionals and get some advice and peace of mind.
