I'm 22 years old. Had long thick hair till I was 17, then it started thinning out and my hairline began receding and a bald spot appeared on the back of my head, by the time I was 19 I appeared to be "balding" ... These pictures are what my head typically looks like a little over a month after getting a buzz cut. It seems there's no hope for my hair .. What do ya'll think?

I think Propecia and minoxidil will give you a big boost especially since you're a diffuse thinner and at least in my opinion it tends to result in a bigger improvement amongst diffuse thinners. Dermarolling ontop of this will yield even better results. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the change if you jump on treatments, however whether you should is a different question.

It's a life long commitment and there are side effects attached to both drugs. Given that you are already at quite an advance stage of hairloss it might be easier just accepting it rather than fighting a losing battle for the next 5-10years. But then again there is no harm in trying.

Short answer: Yes there is hope, you wont regain a full head of hair but you should see big improvements. Or if you are happy to accept it at this stage just keep it buzz cut.

Goodluck.

i think its over bro

why taking tranny drugs only to maintain a ratnest at the top of your head - i mean finasteride is for maintaining not for regrowth. and you would need a lot of regrowth

if there wasnt the possibility of lang lasting sideeffects (which even stay after you quit using the drug) and id say go for it but so possible wins and risks arent in a good relation

buzzcut that sh*t and hope your face is pretty enough to still attract girls - if not do a yearly vacation in south east asia for your mental health

You're quite far gone but you can still give minoxidil and finasteride a try. If it works to maintain you can then get smp to give the illusion of more density or could even use a little toppik and you would look like a full head. If you want to go down that route...... If you're genuinely goodlooking don't bother with any of that and just shave it.

I'm not ugly and am definitely good-looking with a buzzed head, I'm really not interested in treatments, at all. Looks like I'll be visiting the barber every month!

Make sure you are definitely because most guys tend to overate themselves. Not meaning to be harsh here.

Understand that! I always suffered in appearance due to crazy hair so I don't think that's what I have to worry about. I am incredibly self-conscious about having NO hair however

Judging by the looks of your photos it looks like you're thinning quite a bit around the ears and on your neck/nape. You might very well have thyroid hairloss. Get your Bloods done to check your thyroid and then go from there.

Just buy yourself a good clipper set! You can save time and money by just shaving it yourself. Also, what is your family history of hairloss?

My grandfather and father didn't start losing hair till they were over 40

In that case definitely get your bloods checked for thyroid issues. There are more health implications than just thinning hair with thyroid issues.

Yeah I've always thought there may be a dietary issue causing the thinning. Last time I had bloodwork done everything checked out ok!

You grandfathers on both sides didnt have premature hairloss? What about ur parents siblings? What about ur great grandfathers? Hb ur grandfathers siblings? I can guarantee atleast one person in that list have the same hairloss pattern that you do but it sucks when it comes from someone pretty far. I also thought my hairloss was thyroid issues at first but I know for sure its male pattern baldness. Your hairloss is also male pattern baldness and its obvious because of the very receded hairline.

Since you are not looking at treatments, your only options are SMP or accepting being a baldie(ill be joining you soon).

Goodluck!

I’m not bald, low test, or 22. Projecting insecurities is what losers say on the internet when someone tells the truth.

Now begone, I already tried to help your sorry *** in the past and you wouldn’t listen.
