My balding problems happened all in the span of 1 year. I'm 2 weeks into age 37 and at 36 my hair started to get scary thin in the front area and left temple. I have now been on propecia 3 months now and have some improvements in the temple area. My shedding is in the mid section of scalp and in the shape of a horseshoe. The pictures are showing me letting my bangs grow long and a combover where the shedding has taken place. Where do you guys think I am at on the Norwood scale?

To me that doesn't look like male pattern baldness. You should see a doctor.

I can't believe you had this much hairloss in just one year. Your hairline is completely non existant. My advice: buzz it down to 1/4 inch and get on meds.

Its very unusual, such agressive loss at a (relativly) late age. If you get on the meds and they can hold it a hair transplant would give you back your original look.

The rest of your hair seems to be not too bad but this sudden frontal loss is crazy. Have you been through any huge stres that may have caused this?

Yes, it was a very stressful year last year. I'm hoping my frontal balding is going to be relieved by Propecia. Another thing I am trying is an inversion table. Its a table you where you hang up side down, I've read it promotes blood flow to the scalp.

I've been on this board a few months and cant recall anyone else having such fast hair loss. I've read where people gradually fade but in my case it was literally in the span of 5 months or so that I went from a person who had no hair concerns to seeing a doctor for hair problems.

Maybe it was that saw palmetto pills I tried? I quickly threw that away when my hair loss started.

your hair is a bit worse than my native hair. My brother lost more hair than you in 6 months.

that looks like an odd hairline?? I hope propecia will help.

Also I agree with the previous posts. You should cut your hair short. It make hair look better. I think. I have been cutting my hair short...with a 6 on the sides and 8 on top. Not buzzed short but short enough.

Hmm, I'm a few years older and my real loss did not start until this year and never though it would happen so quick at this age and my hairline is now thin and heavily receding with a thinner patch to one side. It depressingly advances every day.

Seems to be similar to yours..would be easier if it receded in a normal pattern.

Irronically I took Saw palmetto too for a couple of months then Pro-Cerin for 2 months now things are really bad ...maybe they triggered it? I am on finasteride for last week and will have the SPecral DNC to start soon and nizoral.

Hope its not too late to recover..suggest you do the same if you're not already. If the big 3 don't work then nothing will but can't say we haven't tried. Just hope they don't make it worse. As we have the Crown fully in tact and want to keep that.

Can't even get hair transplant at the moment as hair is not stable.

I'm gonna buzz soon as I can't take the anxiety. My head shape is crap but my personality is going down the drain over this and that's gotta stop. Better to be buzzed and have a personality.

Roll on HM.

Did the Propecia stop it?

If so so how long did you take it before it stopped?

Did you get a shed on minoxidil...as like me it looks like you could ill aford a shed.

Have you tried minoxidil too?

Maybe Saw Palmetto is a trigger rather than a fix..it is always touted as a very weak fix for hairloss
