Ok guys, let me give you a brief run down of my topicals.

I use Lees 12.5% and his 5% xandrox. Each one about 12 hours apart, each one once a day. I also use 5% spironolactone in the mix daily.

I just got my order of Fluridil 2 days ago. I wanted to replace the 5% xandrox and spironolactone and just use the 12.5% once daily and the Fluridil once daily.

Yesterday I applied the 12.5 at 3pm as usual. I went to work and when I came home at 3am I applied a ampul of Fluridil to my dry scalp. About 10 minutes later I felt like I was getting a fever but my temp was normal. Then I started having trouble breathing and swallowing and my chest felt tight. I got a wet rag and scrubbed my scalp hoping to rid of the problem. Every time I sat down I thought I was going to pass out so I kept the cool wet rag on my head and paced around for about a half hour til thing subsided.

Of course my question is has any one had this happen? I thought Fluridil was not absorbed systematically?

Also, I thought maybe the high alcohol in the Fluridil pushed too much minoxidil into my system, and I was actually having a reaction to the Xandrox? I have been on minod 5% for almost 2 years and the 12.5% for about 4 months with no adverse reaction. I really would liketo use the Fluridil but not if it's going to kill me!!

Any help is truely appreciated.

in my opinion, you inhaled some of the evaporating isopropanol while applying and then got a little dizzy (same thing used to happen to me). then you proceeded to trip yourself out, having a panic attack, which was manifested as a tight chest and difficulty in breathing (i've experienced this all too often, but it certainly hasn't been because of the fluridil).

Hmmm, that could be, good point. I would like to beleave that since I really want to use Fluridil. Some one else mentioned I might have some kind of alergic reaction. This make any sence? Thanks for the help.

I'm about to use Fluridil for the very first time, so I'll let you know how I feel afterwards.

I would say that you are allergic to the isopropyl alcohol. Be careful and try again. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but be careful.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am going to try Fluridil on Thursday by itself to give it a fair shake. I am keeping an open mind because I really would like to use it. Actually I'd like to replace minoxidil all together with it if it works. What are your thoughts on this? I will let you know what happens tomorrow. Thanks again.

OK, I tried it and had no noticable side effects. The only thing I noticed is that it really dried my skin, but that was something I expected.

Alright guys, I took the past 2 days off my topicals, xandrox and spironolactone, and tried Fluridil again. When I got home last night from work I applied half the ampul of Fluridil and was so tired I went right to bed. When I woke up I was light headed, had trouble focusing and had a strange feeling in my chest. I am finished with Fluridil.

If any one has any thoughts on what to use as an alternative please give me your feed back.

By the way, if any one is interested in just under 3 onths worth of fluridil let me know.

Thanks for the help guys.

Bummer, sounds like you had a bad reaction to it.

looks like you'll have to go back to spironolactone.
