Help With Starting Regimen

Im 17 years old and the frontal part of my head is bald. I need a regimen, can someone recommend me any good products to use? I use to have tight braids and someone has told me that the issue may be traction alopecia and not male pattern baldness although I'm not sure of it yet.

I do not plan on taking Procepia after reading all the permanent side effects which people have encountered.

I've read about Minoxidil, Nizarol Shampoo and Revivogen - are these any good?

All help is appreciated

Re: 17 and Part bald [HELP WITH REGIMEN]

Rogaine and Nizoral.

I'd stay away from propecia, but only because you're only 17. Try and maintain what you currently have, then jump on propecia/finasteride at .5mg when you're about 20, or 21.

Sides are reported in a minority of men, and 99% of those went away when finasteride was stopped.

Thanks. These are the pictures below and I'm not sure what the actual cause is although it could be due to braids. I use to have tight braidings in my hair multiple times throughout the year. As you can see in the pictures the frontal area and the sides of my head are bald. It's been like this for about 2 to 3 years and I recently stopped braiding my hair around a year ago.

Also I've heard that Revivogen and spironolactone do the same thing as finasteride would? Is this true, or are they not effective?

That looks like traction alopecia, not male pattern baldness, see a doctor.

Can I ever get my hair back? I stopped with the tight braidings which caused a force on the hair about a year ago.

Re: 17 years old and need advice [PICS]

I think so, but I really don't know for sure. You should see a dermatologist or your regular doctor about it.

Listen to nene and see a Doctor. They can better diagnose what it is that you have.

spironolactone cream can work in some cases, but it's a very weak alternative to finasteride. Rogain can sometimes work well, but that's more for people that aren't losing their hair to do DHT attacking hair follicles.

Get an appointment with a Doctor, come back here and let us know how it goes and we can go from there :)
