Today i went to my doctor again to see what can be done about my hair loss. Over the last few months ive noticed my hair falling out, an itchy scalp and receeding at the front.
My doctor said there wasnt nothing i could do about the receeding and my scalp didnt have any infection for me to use nizoral, now i am worried that im going to loss my hair.

What should i do now?? Buy some Propecia and some nizoral??

Please Help

I also started lossing hair recently similar to your situation, so I did my research on many products, and viewed people opinions specially on this site (which I think is the best of all hair loss sites), and I came to this decision:

1) Propecia (from Merck Co).
2) Tricomin.
3) Nizoral 2%.

Actually I started 2 & 3, and waiting on #1 till I finish researching the Generec type.

go and get a 2nd and 3rd opinino and go see a dermatologist, they are the experts in the field, i recomend you get a second opinion on a dermatolgist aswell. remeber regaular doctors are not specialists in anyfield and may have little or know knowledge with reagrds to male pattern baldness. for example i once had a doctor that told me 21 is too your for people to go bald.......utter nonsence i knew a person who went bald(was about a norwood 6) at 19.

Oh and get educated on the subject!

Thanks guys, appreciate it. So where would i go for a second, third opinion?? Would i go to the doctor and asked to be sent to a dermatoligist??

So have you guys any idea on why sometimes your hair has white bits at the end and sometimes just black??

Cheers

I would suggest try Propecia first and then gradually add more into your regimen.

Cheers.

The reccomended dose to fight male pattern baldness is 1mg of finasteride a day

this can be acheived with one of the following

1 one propecia pill (contains 1mg finasteride)
2 one generic finasteride pill such as finpecia (contains 1mg finasteride)
3 one fifth of a Proscar pill (contains 5mg finasteride)

To stop your scalp itch, try T/Gel and Nizoral shampoos, use Nizoral two or three times a week and T/Gel two or three times a week. Leave these shampoos sitting on your head for a few minutes each, when you have finished rinsing your shampoo out rinse your head with cold water, this helps with irritaion.

How old are you?

If you are 18 or around that age it might be best to get a second opinion for another doctor.

good luck, welcome to hell

Cheers for that, so where will i get the Proscar from?? Since its cheaper ill use that??

Been using Nizoral for a few months now on and off, sometimes it gets rid of the itch and sometimes not.

When i go on Proscar, when the hair grows back in will it grow in thicker etc and look normal again??

If it works do i just keep taking it and should get the same results forever??

Cheers

I like it! i think this should be the standard HairLossTalk.com welcoming for newbies.

Best thing to do KEVING is search the internet for the best prices you can find for proscar/propecia.

Yes it should grow thicker, depends though, different people have different results, 83% maintained what they had while 68? % had regrowth of differing amounts.

Can of worms there mate. There is a five year study on propecia usage on this website that has good results, but there will be people that state propecia stopped working for them, so its a case of who knows, but i think its possible.

Sam, what research led you to this regimen? Which websites did you visit?
