hi everyone!
this is my story. im 36, i have always had very thin, fine hair and some what oily skin. about 3 years ago i noticed a slight thinning on the back or vertex part of my head. it has progressed slowly i think since then but now im noticing that it seems to be thinning all accross the top of the crown as well, towards the front. i have a 4 month supply of rogaine that i have been sitting on about a year. have been reluctant to use it. i have used nothing so far except to say that im taking some biotin, a multi vitamin and saw palmento. i also take two meds.......PREVECID.....for acid reflux, and BACTRIM.....for reaccuring prostititus. i often wonder if it"s the prevecid thats making my hair loss. i was however on this med for 4 years before my hair noticably started thinning. i can actualy take my hand at times and run it through my hair, through the thinning area on my scalp, and it will feel somewhat sore. this puzzles me because i have used nothing on it thus far. im gonna start using revivigen or foligre every other day or so if thats good? hopefully it will help block dht. im dead set against propecia for the sexual side affects reasons. i guess i really want to hear what ya all think. especially from you who are just using rogaine. i have to admit the idea of shedding all my hair bothers me enormously, i have always wore my hair on the longer side. how many of you have experienced weight gain and or bad acne problems while taking rogaine? does anyone know what the percentages are?.............thx all!

Nice name. I guess you are like my son now or something. Did you pick your name because you saw my posts? Anyway,

Consider getting on propecia. side effects happen in a very small percentage of people, like less than 4%, and they are completely reversible after getting off the drug. revivogen probably will not work as well.

no i wouldn't expect a big shed. but if you do shed it means you will prob be a good responder to it. it maintained hair in 83% of men who took it over a two year period, and 66% saw regrowth. If you have lost your hair recently like within the past year you have a better chance of getting it back with propecia than if your loss has been going on for awhile.

Bro,
If you are serious about your hairloss don't hesitate. Just get on with the treatments. The sooner you get on with it, the better your chances of retaining your current hair.

As far as treatments, get on propecia. See how you react, then add minoxidil (rogaine). To answer your question I have been on rogaine 5% for 2 1/2 months. No acne, no water retention, just improvement.

What are you waiting for? Get on with your treatments.

I shed for 4 straight months when I got on propecia. If I pulled my hair gently I would come up with 9!

Its something you will probably have to put up with if you want to keep your hair.
