Over the past 2 months i noticed a good deal of diffuse thinning on the top of my scalp, luckily ive had pretty thick hair so its not noticeable unless i comb my hair forward completely. I saw a dermatologist, and she took one look at the crown and called it male pattern baldness, didnt really put much time into it or anything. Later next week i went to my pediatrician, im 16 years old, for a check up and asked him, he said he definitely thought it was something else given my family history and age. Neither of my parents families have a history of balding, and my dad is in his 50s and has only subtle traces of thinning. I began to watch my diet and take multivitamins, fish oil, biotin, etc. and now i notice little black hairs growing in on my hairline.
Right now im just unsure of whats going on, i dont know whether or not i have male pattern baldness, the dermatologist might have just made me paranoid, but the little black hairs that are growing in, as well as my family history, make me believe its not male pattern baldness.
as for any new hair growth on my scalp, its really too hard to see...luckily my hair hasnt thinned that much.
So that all having been said, if i could get some opinions as to what it might be, it would help ease my mind alot. Thanks!
Edit: also would help to mention i do not have a receding hairline at all
