Help Needed!

Hey All. I have a rapid hair fall from past two years and I am 23 right now. I lost hair in my temples. To cut short, I qualify 2 in Norwood scale and I will enter 3 pretty soon at this rate. I need assistance with the hair loss drugs.

1. Rogaine (Minoxidil 5%): I started using it for 6 weeks from September to November and I had lot of shedding initially but hair fall kind of slowed down. I stopped it because my scalp was hell itchy (to the core) if I go out. Also, I was diagonsed with mild seborrehic dermititis last month. I used to have lots of dandruff earlier which might be the reason.
2. Propecia: To be very honest, I am REALLY REALLY REALLY scared to use this drug reading the side effects and patients testimonials online.
3. Laser therapy: I read about HairMax laser comb and about laser therapy in lot of websites including renowned hair restoration clinic sites like Dr. Bernstein. I want to try this.
COULD ANY ONE PLEASE EDUCATE ME WITH THIS? I WANNA KNOW WHAT COULD BE ITS POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND STUFF.
4. Nioxin: I read a lot about this and I want to try this too. I am using Nizoral from past 18 months regarding my other shampoo usage.

So the bottom line is I want to start using Nioxin and HairMax laser comb therapy. Please let me know the side effects associated with it.
I apologize for any inconvenience given.
This website gives a lot of positive energy. So thanks to all you guys who are assisting.

Most common and arguably most effective (and proven) combination is minoxidil, propecia, and Nizoral shampoo, so that's your best bet. You're young and the earlier you fight your hair loss the better shot you have. You should absolutely talk to a doctor first.

1. Rogaine -- you might have better luck (irritation wise) with Rogaine Foam, or by checking out some of Dr. Lee's variations on minoxidil formulations.

2. Propecia -- tons of posts on here about the sides (or lack thereof) from Propecia, and it seems to just be luck of the draw whether you will get them and/or overcome them. I, unfortunately, was one that did not overcome them and had to quit after a year.

3. Laser -- I am using the X5 Hair Laser now, starting in November 2008. I am posting pics of any potential progress on another thread. Tough to find a consensus on whether laser therapy is legit or not, which is why I am documenting my experience, though I'd say the majority of people that doubt it's viability outweighs those that support it. Does anyone know of any side effects? I am pretty sure most laser makers claim none.

4. Nioxin -- my barber recommended it two years ago and I bought it before knowing better. Outside of making your hair look and smell nice, it really is unproven and most likely a useless purchase. Stick with Nizoral. I'm also using Revivogen shampoo for my non-Nizoral days, which is pretty solid.

Best of luck!

Curious to know if the Laser Comb worked for you guys?

I bought one and have been using it for a year. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any noticeable results.
