HELP NEEDED FOR DR. LEE'S PRODUCTS

Hey all,

I was wondering which minoxidil product I should by from Dr. Lee.

1. Is it the azeleic acid (in xandrox) or the propylene glycol (PPG) that makes the solution sticky/greasy?

2. Should I go with PPG-free product that is made instead with glycerin? Is the PPG-free made for people that are allergic to PPG or for those that want a less greasy formula? But isn't glycerin even more greasy than PPG to begin with?

3. What do you think about the Retin-A addition?

* the standard minoxidil from Lee is good (fast drying not greasy)
* the ppg-free minoxidil has absorption problems (from what i've experienced and read on different forums)
* paying much more for the azalaic acid is not worth the benefits, it's still up to debate IF azalaic can do something for hairloss...
* retin-a increases absorption not sure what it does by itself

retin-A has been shown to give regrowth by itself.
but it could give serious scalp problems.

Start with Standard #500, get a feel for his product, and go from there to different variants.

1. Is it the azeleic acid (in xandrox) or the propylene glycol (PPG) that makes the solution sticky/greasy?

It's neither. It's the glycerin.

Xandrox is PPG-free, and uses an alcohol/glycerin vehicle that is a bit heavy in the glycerin department.

2. Should I go with PPG-free product that is made instead with glycerin? Is the PPG-free made for people that are allergic to PPG or for those that want a less greasy formula? But isn't glycerin even more greasy than PPG to begin with?

PPG-free is generally made for folks who are sensitive to PPG. It's not as viscous as the #500 standard, but there are some here who swear by it (Aplunk) and from what they say it is less sticky than the normal Rogaine.

3. What do you think about the Retin-A addition?

I like it, it's a powerful skin peel. The only reason I quit it was price, didn't feel it was worth it in terms of net benefits over normal minoxidil on the margin, versus added cost on the margin.
