HELP!! Minoxidil is ruining my hair!!!!!

Hello everyone

I´ve been using minoxidil 5% + Nizoral for a month now, the thing is when I started, I had mild/moderate hairloss, to be more accurate, at that point hair loss was somehow calm.

I heard that it was normal Minoxidil causing shedding in the first 2 weeks (as stated in the rogaine site) but I am now in approxemately 30 days and my hair loss is far far far worse!!

I am loosing hair like i can´t remember in my whole life, everywhere, shower, air, brush, tons of it, arghhh!

In my frontal hairline and temples (where I apply it most) minoxidil is literally killing my hair, in terms of density, receding hairline, it has got visibly worse in just a month!


This damn thing is ruining what I have left!! Damn drug I am spending money and work in a scam!!

Shall I continue using it?? I am afraid it will continue destroying what I have left!

By the way whats the point using this? I haven´t heard a single success story

Can someone tranquilize me or just confirm what I think??

What's the point using minoxidil? It's the most powerful drug for regrowing hair. It does grow hair and there are many success stories.
You are just goring through shed, it's normal with minoxidil and it means that you will get nice regrow but you have to stick with it.
When it comes to shedding in the first 2 weeks, everyone is different, some people shed in 2 other in 30, some have small shed every a few months.
Don't quit minoxidil and Nizoral.

You are just goring through shed, it's normal with minoxidil and it means that you will get nice regrow but you have to stick with it.
When it comes to shedding in the first 2 weeks, everyone is different, some people shed in 2 other in 30, some have small shed every a few months.
Don't quit minoxidil and Nizoral.

I have recently gone through possibly the worst shed i've ever had.
I've been using minoxidil7% for about 2 years(i had to quit finasteride due to bad sides after a year). Recently i purchased S5 cream and i stopped using minnox for a month and just used the cream. About three weeks ago i started using minnox again.
When i was just on cream, i lost like two hairs in the shower, now back on minnox its rediculous, must be near 80/90.

I'm worried i've done lasting damage? Is there an extra bad shed that happens when you stop minnox for a month and get back on it?

I have recently purchased nanominnox-fms, still waiting for it to arrive, will swap it for my normal minnox when i've got it. Will i get another shed when i start using nano?

You said that you stopped using minoxidil. You probably shed hair that you regrow with minoxidil or the hair that were minoxidil depended. You are shedding because you stop minoxidil and finasteride. Most likely the hair that you shed will grow back. Continue on minoxidil and S5

this is how minoxidil WORKS. you shed first, then regrow.

1 month is EXACTLY when you should expect the shed. mine lasted from week 3 to week 5 and that was only from applying it once a day! this is powerful stuff.

i would not give up the foam if i were you.

i also see from your regimen you are not taking finasteride. unless your thinning is diffuse and all on the crown i would not be using minoxidil without finasteride - they are an AWESOME combo

I recieved my nanominox - fms today. Cant wait to try this stuff tonight. I went for it and bought 7 bottles, feel like its my last chance with the state of my hairloss.

Going to ditch my ashley & martin 7% minoxidil and give this a go.

I did quit finasteride almost 18 months ago so dont think this could have anything to do with my current shed.

Just thought i might have made a big mistake stopping minnox for a month and then starting again?

We will see how things go, will try to keep you posted.

Just to keep things actualized

By month 2 I see no results and not a single tiny growing hair.

My male pattern baldness got 5 times worse in the areas where I applied it.

I am quitting this for good, this thing destroyed 30% of what I had left.

I am sorry but I am not going to be "patient with it" and in the process wipe out what I still have.

Minoxidil never again in my whole life.

Considering finasteride now.
