Hey,

Since the age of 19 I have been losing hair. This coincides with me going to University, and in some part I think was due to a bad diet at uni.

However over the past 5 months i have noticed increased hair loss, my hair line has receeded a fair bit, the front of my hair is thinning out, and the area around my crown has thinned a lot. Also it seems itchy around my crown area. I ahve been stressed recently with trying to get a job, but my hair loss is massive. Whenever I have a shower my loads of hair falls out.

What can i do about that?

Both my grandads died with full heads of hair, and my father (60) has only just started thinning out.

I'm planning on going to the doctor. But not sure what he can do. I've noticed people on here seem to use MSM (is this a supplement of some sort anywhere to get it in the UK) and Nizoral (a shampoo?).

But I am a bit sceptical to use those, and have looked at suplements instead. What do you think of this website??

Thanks for the help.

I'm in the UK too mate, 22 years old and losing hair very slowly since I was 14, still luckily have a very decent head of hair. Researched hairloss to a great extent when I was 19 and took in as much information as I could, but felt I was too young to start on propecia. Somewhat reluctantly I've decided to give it a go asap.

I have an appointment with my doctor next Tuesday

good luck pete, im 20 and in the UK aswell, started loosing at 18/19 time, still got a good head of hair, maybe in the future i will go on propecia. I'm just not convinced its a good idea to start before i have kids. I might get some professional opinions about whether or not it is actually worth it or not.

Maybe I haven't looked into it as much as I though I did.

Why wouldn't it be a good idea before starting to have kids (i know that getting your girlfriend pregnant while on propecia may harm a male baby's genitals) but I was under the impression that if your trying to have kids it's virtually guaranteed to be safe if you just leave off the propecia for a few days?

Can someone clear this up for me (I definately want to be able to have healthy children)
