Hey guys,
I've been managing my hair loss for about 10 years now, and until recently, had been doing pretty well. It all started when I was about 22, I noticed my hairlines was receding and my hair was super greasy. I went to a dermatologist that specialized in hair, and within a few months I got everything under control, and had a pretty good mane of hair and maintained it until 2015. She had mostly natural solutions with weekly or bi-weekly treatment (scalp cleanse, laser, electro-stimulation) and it worked great for me. It became a ritual of sorts.
I then moved far away from my hometown (twice now, currently in Canada), and had to look for other ways to take care of my hair. I started used Minoxidil 5% (Kirkland) as a tonic intermittently supplemented with Biotin, and have used a shampoo with 2% Ketoconazole for about three years (probably more often than I should, sometimes daily). While my hair was not as good as when I was having weekly treatments, it worked for me and my budget.
I always prioritized my hairline, but about two months ago I looked at my crown...and noticed I had considerably less hair around the crown area. I had a naturally visible crown since I was a kid, so I never paid to much attention to it, but I had also been noticing my hair in the area had started to become lighter/feathery, with a wiry texture, and more unruly, which I don't know HOW I didn't link this with hair loss. Since then I have become a bit consumed bit this. I literally have taken care of my hair for 10 years diligently, and I feel like a dropped the ball somewhere, or that time has come to become more aggressive.
Some possible culprits:
For the time being, I ordered the Regenepure pack (DT, NT and Conditioner) and have started using a Hairmax Comb that I was able to buy for a good price a couple of weeks ago (Laser has worked for me in the past). I went for a consultation to a place called Hair Club. I didn't like their vibe, but I've seen enough microscopic views of my hair to know something is not well. My crown has definitely less density, and less hairs p/ follicle than it used to (not that I didn't know by looking at it).
Propecia isn't really an option at the moment. I'm trying to get pregnant, and I have some fertility problems and at the moment, I can't risk it - my Dr has specifically called out Propecia as a "no-no" for the moment. Any other ideas? Or suggestions of what else I could do?
Some pictures for reference....

Some possible culprits:
- Maybe I've been to focused on my hairline with the minoxidil, while I always put some directly on my crown origin, and have not used as much all along the vertex
- I missed about two weeks of minoxidil when I accidentally dropped my bottle during a trip...I resumed ASAP.
- Too much Keto? I like the current shampoo, but might have abused it and maybe it's not useful for me anymore?
- Some kind of infection? The first time I went to the Doctor was b/c I had some mycosis on hair...
- My time has come?
