Hi my name is John and i am new in the forums.I am 25 years old and i`m coming from Greece.4 years now i live in Montreal,Canada though.I`ve been a member in hairloss forums before and i know that my Norwood right now is 3 to 4 and that 4 is coming fast! And this is affecting my social life very bad,i used to be very attractive and have great sucess on girls or making new friends really fast.I can`t see that in my life lately, prob because of my hairloss and how this is killing my confidence slowly.Long story short i want to find that confidence back in my life and live happy.Baldness is taking this away from me slowly and i am not strong enough yet to just accept the fact that i`m bald and ugly, because bald doesn`t look good for me and i know that.

I am sure that the first thing i need to start with,is finasteride.Yes i know all the side effects trust me.I`ve been taking finasteride daily for 1 year when i was 22 years old and my hair were thining and start noticing the crown was noticable, but then i got in a relationship and i stopped fina for the reasons we all here know.Didn`t really work for my sexual life.1 year though of treatment,every1 around me was noticing that my hair were growing thicker, more shiny and that i look younger(cause baldness can easily make you look 5 years older even if you`re 20).

I haven`t used fina since then. But now the situation is critical and i need to start Fina,to keep the remaining hair at least, until i find out a way to go for hair-transplant(dr.Brett Bolton seems to be a wise choice)

BUT I CAN`T BUY ANY FINA HERE IN MONTREAL.I think they need a prescription from your family Doctor.I don`t have a family doctor though to send me to a dermatologist or something.I have medicare though.

Any1 can help me please?Recommend a dermatologist or tell me how can i get the prescription without a family doctor,or even how can i buy online finasteride?

I would really appreciate it.I am sorry about the bad-written message,my english are still bit broken:unsure:
Thank you

Go find a hair transplant surgeon. Ask for a consultation, they will prescribe you finasteride for sure, though the consultation may be expensive. Or free. One or the other!

Being in Canada with no insurance, you really have no other choice. If you order it online, it won't get through customs. Or you could find someone with a script for Proscar that would be willing to sell you pills, but that is kind of an LOL.

It doesn't have to be a 'family doctor'. Your GP will prescribe you one or try walk in clinics. cheers

its a prescription drug for everyone dude. everyone else had to ask their doctor for it, u have to too.

if u dont want to ask ur doctor, then youll never get a legal source. just be honest with him/her, say ur worried about ur male pattern baldness, u know about the side effects and have decided that the benefit outweighs the risk for u, or say youve had it before, and u want it again.

it wont be that hard. (double entendre - LOL)

Yeah but can my family doctor actually write me the prescripton?
Cause i don;t want him to send me to a dermatologist. To get an appointment with a derma here in Canada, you need 5-6 months at least!
I feel like i will loose all my remaining hair in 6 months i can`t w8.

Ur doctor CAN write the prescription. finasteride is used at 5 mg for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and at 1mg for male pattern baldness. ur Doctor can prescibe for both conditions. a derm may be better equipped to diagnose skin and hair conditions, but a Doctor can easily write the script, and they do it all the time.

you are a 'worrier'!! you haven't seen your doctor, yet you are here worrying about ' What If '. Go see your doctor first! if he prescribes you Propecia, that's good. If not, then try another doctor or alternative solutions (e.g., online). cheers
