Hello everyone, Im 25, my hair has always been fine and thin but I have noticed over the last year or so (had some shitty events that caused a lot of stress) that it has gotten thinner than usual. Basically only visible when my hair is wet or oily. My Dad is bald, mother has full head of hair but is also thin and fine. Older brother is 33 and has no hair loss. I dont lose much hair, maybe 5 or 6 strands when showering, dont see any on my pillow after sleeping. Currently dont take any meds, ordered minoxidil but im hesitant to use it. And just purchased Nizoral and used it for the first time. Should I monitor it for now and continue with Nizoral, possibly derma rolling? Or should I see a dermatologist to get on finasteride.

Thanks for reading, here are pics of hair both dry and a little oily, and wet. First pic shows it combed over to opposite side than usual so you get a better look.

That's a wide area of thinning. minoxidil is easy and good to get on first. If you get finasteride, take like the smallest amount you can at first for 4 to 6 months.
Also, look into good concealers. For diffused thinners, concealers can be a god send. Then the goal is to slow it down as much as possible.
Next thing you know 10 years have gone by and its only a little worse.

No. minoxidil first. And try other things people recommend (SAW PAW, shampoos, vitamins, derma rolling). Stay off finasteride for a few more years. But that's my advice. Give other things a try first. After 2 years I quit finasteride...

I've just heard of ppl getting on minoxidil, shedding like crazy and then it never ends up working so it looks worse than when they started. But I do think I should save finasteride for last. I don't notice any shedding or hair fall which is odd for how things my hair got on top

Interesting, you're actually the first guy here that recommends minoxidil over finasteride. Don't you think his hair will start deteriorating badly a year or two after starting mino?

finasteride messes with your hormones and turns you into a dick less woman (which is redundant I know).
minoxidil actually stimulates hair growth (finasteride stops what is trying to kill your hair, which is your manhood).
finasteride did sh&t for me other than change the tissue inside my pee pee member and took away orgasms.
5 months off and I feel like me again.
Did I mention that minoxidil is like 1000% safer and better?
