Heat of sun felt on scalp - is it an indicator?

Has anyone felt the suns rays seem harder on the scalp than normal. Is this an indicator of hair density decreasing on top of the head, even though you're not showing scalp, or is it ozone layer deterioration?

It may be decreasing density on the top. Two Summers ago I had my hair cut really short and got sunburned on my scalp because my hair is so thin on the top.
