Hi, been on dutasteride now evey other day for the first time for just over a month and headaches and head pains keep coming up again and again, I know this expected and I was warned about this, but how long should I have to put up with this as it is a bit scary and im not sure what to do, some have said they go with time but I am worried about how long I pursue this. Any help welcome please. :(:(:(

I am afraid the migraine attack you are experiencing would continue. Every other day as opposed to every day is still giving you the migraine attack, then you need to tinker around the dosage.

a) puncture the gelcap with a toothpick and squeeze about 4 to 5 drops in water and drink it quickly without shaking while the drops are still suspended in water. Drip it so that water goes directly to throat and then to stomach without touching your taste buds in mouth. Save the gelcap for next day dose. The gelcap 0.5mg has about total 9 to 10 drops. So you would be taking approx. 0.25mg per dose. Try to put your fingertips on the opposite edge of the gelcap so that your fingers do not absorb any liquid coming out of the other end. If they do, then dip your finger in glass water and the liquid should mix with water. This will make sure that you not waste your drug. (I am not sure if saving the punctured gelcap with a dose will affect its potency; so store it in fridge)

b) If not above which is quite strenuous, then use dutasteride every three days or so and see if that helps.

c) you can always use pain relievers

Thanks mentalist, I will try lowering the drug and also taking some pain killers (not at the same time), but a little bit after taking It. I will try 3 days and so on and see what happens. Thanks for your advice. See how I get on. Do you have any idea how long dutasteride takes to leave the system? - 2 weeks?
