I'm about to have to go around 50 days or two months without Propecia (after having been on it for a little over 2 years). If I promptly go back on after the two months are over, can I expect to basically go back to where I left off, or am I going to lose a lot of ground in the meantime?

You should be OK. You might start to see some shedding or recession or something by the time two months rolls around, but just hop back on it.

Why do you have to go off it for this time period?

If I had to take a guess he's probably going to boot camp for a branch in the military.

TheGrayMan basically has the right idea. It's going to be a very physically demanding experience, and I'm not going to be able to take Propecia. One of you mentioned that I should be fine -- anyone have a second opinion? I just don't want to lose tons of ground that I'll never be able to recover once I start again after the 2 months are up.

You will be fine. I've gone for long intervals away from it due to sides. I get sides every time I get on it but I just don't wanna lose anymore hair.

Anyway, I've gone a whole year off of it and was fine. I'm a little below baseline but as soon as I got back on it I could see no more shedding and hair improved.
