Have I got any chance without the big 3?

It's not been long since coming off the big 3 (due to sides) and as expected i'm loosing hair fast. I now look very bald on top, I feel hair all over the top of my head but it's so thin I just look bald. I'm using topical spironolactone but don't have much faith in it. I used Revivogen but it irritated my head as does rogaine foam.

I'm running out of options. I would like to try RU but can't get hold of it.

I might try Prox-N and keep up the spironolactone and hope the Prox-N helps without irritating my head. I could try liquid minoxidil as that never used to irritate my head but neither did the foam until recently.

Do you think this is my best option? Prox-N and spironolactone.

got sides from minoxidil foam? Where you using any other topical?

to be honest, I think you've got almost zero chance of regrowth without minoxidil or a dht blocker. perhaps a topical anti-androgen will stop things getting worse, I don't know...

Yeah, I thought so. I'm screwed, on the bright side i can't get much balder!

After 7 months of using the foam I added Tricomin and a week later my head got really bad, red, itchy, hot very dry. I got some cream off the Doctor and it cleared up.

I tried to get back on the foam and it made my scalp bad again. I seem to be fine using spironolactone 5% cream.

I used 0.5mg of finasteride a day and still had sides. I never heard anything good about dutasteride.

I would like to try RU but I can't be bothered mixing it myself.

Here is what I suggest:

Use the 5% spironolactone cream every night and apply it to a thoroughly hydrated scalp. Wait a few minutes, and then apply a thin coating of Emu oil on top of the spironolactone to help with absorption and to help with inflammation.

Use Dr. Lee's Regrowth Shampoo (Nizoral 2%) about 3 times a week and leave it in for 5 minutes before rinsing.

In the mornings, apply Dr. Lee's 5% Minoxidil. It has very little PPG in it and will likely cause little irritation.

This regimen should help you maintain or at least slow things down some.

p.s. I would give a low dose of finasteride a try as well. Maybe .5 mg or even .25 mg a day.

hey flimflam, I noticed on another post form quite awhile ago that you were thinking about starting rogaine foam. Did you ever start this and are you still using it? how is/was it?

Well, I've just bought 3 tubs of spironolactone so i'm gunna just stick to that and see what happens. There is a lot of people who wonder if spironolactone works and if I only use that I can see for myself. I'll try and give it 6 months of spironolactone on it's own.

I am very tempted to get some liquid minoxidil without PPG to see if it irritates my head. I might just do that after 6 months of spironolactone.

I wish I could get away with minoxidil and finasteride because I had regrowth and now it's all gone and a lot more :(
