Is there any evidence that wearing hats (daily) could increase the effects of male pattern baldness? This is assuming you know for sure that you have male pattern baldness and still wear hats/caps. In my uneducated opinion, it would make a lot of sense that hats could increase hair loss. But I am unsure and my research seems to be giving me very contradictory results.

Any insight?

I was under the impression FROM MY DERMATOLOGIST that hats can increase hair loss if you have male pattern baldness because you are cutting off some oxygen to the head and holding in extra grime and whatnot ... hmmmm

motorcycle helmet ****ed my hair on top and vertex coz of weight+friction. that was few years ago. luckily it grew back. I doubt that wearing hat can harm your hair.

Traction alopecia can cause hairloss, but that is usually down to extensions or braiding. I have never seen anything other than self reported anecdotes to support this theory.
