Hello stud4u,
I recently had the procedure done at HIS in NYC. I am quite satisfied with the outcome. Before making the decision to go with the procedure I attempted to do some research on this forum and a few others. It seemed like a few people had done their research, but nobody who actually had the procedure done ever went back on the web to talk about it. Well, I thought that after having the procedure done I could help some people out by revisiting this forum and discussing my results. Your posting gave me the right opportunity.
The finished product looks very good and the "dots" look only slightly different from your natural hair follicles. Slight enough, that unless someone is actively looking to distinguish your real hair follicles from your simulated ones, they would never notice the difference. This of course with the caveat that you keep your hair at the proper length.
There is one critical piece. The hairline. The people who performed the procedure on my scalp are very knowledgeable and professional. However, they are not artists and they are not medical professionals. There is a big chance that your hairline will not look natural. In my case I had a real hairline (but little else). Thus the outcome looked natural. What I suggest is studying other peoples hairlines on the web and attempt to trace those hairlines on yourself with a marker before walking in to the clinic. This is extremely important since you dont want to be stuck with an unatrual lineal hairline (unless thats what you are looking for). You also dont want to be rushed into making such a critical decision right before your procedure. Call the clinic and talk about this with the people there.
This is one of the best hair loss options out there. I previously had hair transplant surgery performed in 2005 and 2011. This procedure most likely will NOT give you the results you are looking for. Hair transplant surgery is permanent as advertised. However, it will not give you the density you want. You will still look bald unless you have 30,000 - 40,000 hairs grafted (guessing here). I had a 12000 graft procedure done and still looked just as bald as when I walked in. All it did really was lighten my wallet and put a huge , nasty scar on the back of my head. (Micro scalp pigmentation can help you with this as well).
Today I look good on top but have a nasty visible scar on the back of my head. Its not the best situtaion but its a good tradeoff.
I really hope this response helps someone out there. Best of luck
