Has anyone tried a simulation before getting a hair transplant? How useful is it?

I’ve been thinking about getting a hair transplant for a while, but I still haven’t made up my mind. My biggest worry is what I’ll actually look like afterwards and whether it’ll suit me.


The other day I tried a free site called Hair Simulate. You upload a photo and it generates an image of how you might look after a transplant. I know it’s only a simulation, and the real result depends on graft count, hair type, the doctor and so on. Still, it helped me get a clearer picture in my head.


A few questions for you all:

• If you’ve had a transplant, did you look at a simulation like this beforehand? Did the result come close to what you expected?
• Do clinics usually do their own simulations, or do they just sketch it out for you?
• If you’re still deciding, what worries you the most: the hairline, density or the recovery?

Interesting questions and I'm in your situation (thinking about it but undecided) so I'd love to hear feedback from those who have gotten a transplant. I assume that simulation is so new that most people who have gotten transplants likely never had a chance for simulation.
