Has Anyone Here Maintained On Minoxidil Alone?

I use generic 5% minoxidil liquid nightly and have been a really good responder to it. I've used it for 3 months and have steadily and steadily progressed.

I do use a low dosage finasteride and 1% nizoral.. I started finasteride awhile before minoxidil and it seemed to be helping maintain, but didn't notice much, if any regrowth. Adding minoxidil to my regimen has seemed to make a world of difference.

I know I'm not using minoxidil alone, so my thread doesn't fully pertain to me.. I guess I'm just curious to hear stories from people that have had success with minoxidil alone. Plus, I'm not taking but 1-1.5mg of finasteride max a week.

I use finasteride and minoxidil, but I'm tempted to wonder if I would hold up well on just minoxidil.

I literally just finished the first face waxing of my entire life. Since starting minoxidil somewhere probably just over 3 months ago, I've definitely seen an increase in thickness and started to grow hair between my eyebrows and temples that never existed before; thus, the waxing.

you are lucky pavi . im 7 month in and no result , but just an initial shedding of vellu hair at hairline.
Do you think that if i just let the minoxidil liquid soak on my scalp it will be as good as massaging it ?

And just a question to" That Guy" , did you experminet body hypertrichosis , unwanted hair because of minoxidil? thx

I maintained pretty well for 3+ years. I quit this summer because I want to know where my natural baseline is. Looking to recover from minoxidil in a year. I'll probably jump back on next summer, once this experiment of mine is completed (using natural remedies during the recovery, see if they do anything).

A huge disclaimer in my success is that I had hypothyroidism and male pattern baldness. I have now been treating my hair for 11 months and I have been properly medicated for 3 months

It will. Already have an army of hairs growing, some of them taking color already. I quit in the beginning of May this year. Most people don't realize that you need more than 4 months to recover from minoxidil. You need 9 months, at least. That's where that fear-mongering comes from. It's true that I will not get back whatever minoxidil gave me. But, minoxidil dependent hair? Give me a break.

You can't maintain on just minoxidil for say, 5 years + unless naturally you just would have stopped balding any further anyway
