Has anyone ever come clean with their doctor about buying generic finasteride online?

Hi there,

I've been on finasteride for two years and have experienced some side effects: watery semen and less frequent morning erections. I haven't been to a doctor in years but would like to get a general check-up and to talk about my loss of morning erections, because I'm a bit concerned about it. I'd quite like to get some physical tests for ED done.
I feel like I should mention finasteride but am a bit worried that they'll react badly and might make it harder to get referred to a urologist/ other specialist for tests. Has anyone ever brought it up with their doctor?
Any reply would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers.

I didn't tell my doctor. I might stop buying Fincar since I got a prescription for 5mg finasteride but I am going to continue buying generic dutasteride. I don't think I got any side effects at all from whenever I take dutasteride.

yer i told my Doctor i was taking generic finasteride and he seemed pretty distressed about it but i didn't really care. i asked for my androgens to be tested to which he said yes. from then on, he constantly advised me to drop finasteride.

Since my GP literally laughed when I asked for a prescription for finasteride, I wouldn't bother with him, if I ever felt like I was having problems I'd make an appointment with another GP.

I told my doctor about it just 2 weeks ago. I mentioned that I wanted to get a script for generic proscar (5mg finasteride) and quarter it. That way I could save some money, and be 100% certain I was taking legit drugs. He had no problem with it and he wrote me a script for it right then and there.

I think it would give the Doctor a bit more reason to give you a scrip for it if he knew you were taking generics from india. I mean, if you're going to take it anyways...then he might as well help you make sure it's all legit.

ok so i just bought another 3months supply of finpecia as really didn't like finax for some reason and I've decided to switch back even tho i thought finasteride was finasteride! the finpecia this time has come in its proper box instead of bubble wrap the time i got it from a UK Doctor. the pills are the same tho as i saved a few finpecia from 5months back. Im convinced now that finpecia is genuine, the packaging looks good with raised and indented lettering- too much for a fake to copy. i think ill delay going to my Doctor for propecia afterall.
