I was just thinking: I trust those who successfully fight male pattern baldness, but I really doubt that those who had success with any treatments or reversed the stuff, are "aggressive" balders, but rather have a slow paced male pattern baldness, or mild thinning, receiding, not the freaky stuff, like I have, where you just wish to have the hair you had 2 weeks ago, and 2 weeks ago, you wished to have the hair you had 1 month ago :freaked2:   . What I wish though is that you make me wrong! I just would like to know if anyone had any success over a really agressive kind of male pattern baldness????

I would say I had agressive balding.. big time, and it has helped me up to this point. After the initial shedding period, the hairloss has slowed down to a crawl.

I think a very aggressive case of male pattern baldness is going to be very difficult to treat unless you catch it very early and hit it with everything - even then you probably will only be buying time.

I'm talking about guys whose father was a cueball by age 21. The guy that starts aggressively thinning at age 18 - this is a very difficult case to treat.

My father was a nw5 by age 25, but he was also very hairy all over his body. I'm 31 and a nw2-2.5 but I have almost no body hair and even though I lost a ton of density and some hairline, my hair is holding steady now.

Its all about the genetic hand you were dealt. I think probably I will eventually be "balding" but I'm going to try to keep it slow as possible.

Anyway, back to your question. Yes aggressive thinning can be treated, but your expectations may have to be lower than someone who is a slow diffuse thinner. It is possible that you could be an aggressive thinner and stop/reverse the process, it all depends on the chemistry.

No way to know until you try the proven treatments

The more agressive the male pattern baldness is the harder it is to keep your hair. You should take action as soon as you notice it, otherwise you'll end up like me. I left it 18 months untreated and boy am I wishing I hadn't, but at the time I didn't have the resources I have now this web site being one.

i know what you mean Hess. I let my hairloss go on for about 4 years, BUT if i only knew about propecia and nizoral back then, maybe i'd have a nice thick crown right now.

Yes Ams absolutely, I had no idea of these treatments I even went to see my GP and she said it was male pattern baldness and showed me the door! I hope other people dont delay in their treatment.

you know, i didn't even know about propecia until maybe a year and a couple months ago when i saw a pamphlet about it at the dermatologist office. maybe merck makes no real money off the drug because the only mainstream advertising they get is from bosley commercials, and the assholes at bosley present it in a very negative light.

I believe it is extremely difficult to treat based on personal experience. After six months I haven't noticed any slowing at all. So over the next six months I'm reducing my goal from regrowth to slowing my balding down.

My balding has slowed, although little by little it is all going. At least I can say I had a bloody good go at trying to keep it!

I don't know how aggressive can be evalued my diffuse thinning, but I can say that every time I get out of the shower, I see a difference from the last time I took a shower. It depress me the simple idea to wash my hair, because I know it won't look the same after! and I wash my hair twice a week.

It really depress me.

You might want to wash your hair more that 2 times a week. Maintaining a healthy scalp condition is essential to slowing your balding down.

I have a aggressive *** kicking balding gene that wants me bald very soon. I have been on Propecia for going on a year and Minoxidil for over a year, and about 6 months on the Nizoral. While my hair is not falling out as much I have lost a sh*t load of hair that I dont think will be coming back any time soon.

I would add folligen right now. Consider adding spironolactone also.

Good luck
