Hey guys
I just wanted to share my little story. Im currently 23 and im not exactly sure what Norwood scale im on, maybe 2 or 3, but i definately know im loosing my hair to male pattern baldness. I have always been the kind of guy that looks after his self image and consider myself decent looking. I once read that male pattern baldness can be triggered by sudden accident so im assuming all of this started when i got into a serious car accident about 4 years ago. At around 21 i noticed that my hair suddenly became very limp and felt like it it had no life to it (like straw). At this point i didnt think anything of it and continued to live my life. Gradually i began to notice that my hair was getting thinner, i have always had really fine hair to start with. I went through the usual denial process for about a year and slowly over this period i began to research about this Hair loss phenomenon. Eventually it got to a point where my family pointed out that i was going bald. At this point i came across this website and began reading different peoples regiment and gathering some information. I gathered up enough balls to go see my family docter but he didnt seem to care much and told me it wasnt a big deal. I also to visit the the Hair club for Men ( who wanted about $2100 for their program) but at this point i already knew what i needed to do and that i could do it on my own. I started on 1/4 tab proscar and nizoral shampoo about 2 and 1/2 months ago. So far NO SIDES! i have noticed that my hair is alot less greisier than it used to be be, so i guess that means less DHT blocking my follicles. YAY! However lately, maybe a week ago i have encountered that same itchy feeling and tingling sensation. I think i am mostly a diffuse thinner. I will be taking some picture to show you soon but before that i have a few questions.
1) Should i get on Rogaine, the only thing holding me back is the crazy shedding everyone talks about. I just dont think i could handle loosing more hair @ crazy speed. Im also going to Cuba in less than a month so should i wait untill i get back.
2) The itchy, tingling feeling that has returned? Is this normal? should i switch to the real propecia or dutasteride? Im just worried that something is wrong.
3) what other supplement could i take to improve my hair/ take away the itchyness and irritation
Anyway i just wanted to introduce myself, share my story and start documenting my journey. Im generally a very positive person and try to keep my chin up in all situations. Its gets tough sometimes but atleast i know im doing all that i can to keep my hair for as long as possible.
Hopefully pics will be up soon, university is keeping me very busy with exam and essay deadlines but i will get those picss up asap.
I also wanted to thank all you people on this forum, this has been my source of help and motivation.
