Zequih,

Welcome to this forum! Alopecia areata generally manifests itself with random blothches of hairloss throughout the scalp. And as you may already know it is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to form antibodies against some of the hair follicules. It can also be induced by high levels of long-term stress, etc.

There are no known cures but in many cases like the stress induced ones, the hair does eventually grow back.

BUT BE VERY CAREFUL because the trauma to the scalp can cause and even promote further hairloss especially near and adjoining the recipient area. :freaked2:

Have you been formally diagnosed with alopecia areata by a dermatologist or hair transplant doctor? If so they must have informed you that hair transplant surgery is not for you as long as you have this condition. Did they prescribe you a topical ointment like Aldactone or Spironolactone which have anti-androgenic effects? I sincerely wish you the best with this situation and hopefully everything will grow back which can take on average approximately six months to one year. :)

I'm sorry. I meant to also strongly encourage you to see a doctor for a formal diagnoses if you have not already done so since we are just lay people here.
