Hairloss or mature hairline

Hey guys,

I know this is a common question asked here on the forums, but I was wondering if, judging from my photos, you think my hairline is "matured" or receding. I think it is the latter, but just wanted to check. Also, I am 22 years old with little family history of hair loss. Thanks very much.

I had a similar recession 5/6 years ago, it's not moved since, could possibly be mature.

Definitely male pattern baldness. It may stay there for a long time, but with that much temporal recession it's certainly male pattern baldness.

There's no evidence of a horse shoe forming yet, you don't appear to have diffuse thinning in the horseshoe pattern yet, though it will probably end up receding into a horseshoe at some point. Best get of finasteride now and delay that for as long as possible.

I positively see a horse shoe shape. Men who have mature hairlines but temple loss usually have strong v-angles at the temples and the rock-solid density starting at the hairline is the dead giveaway.

You have receded beyond a mature hairline especially for only 22 years old. Your hairline would be considered more common if you were over 40 but it could stay that way for over 20 years too.

I would compare to old pictures and see if there is a difference. If you never had hair their before then you never lost any and its nothing. If you did and lost all that hair then its male pattern baldness. Just depends where you started compared to now. To me it looks like maybe the start of male pattern baldness but hard to say for sure.
