Hallo,
I am 16 years old guy with afro hair, and i do have a very strange U shaped hairline. I really hate it because the only hairstyle that doesn't make me look stupid is a very short haircut. My hairline started to bother me when i was 13. For some time my mother told me that the U shaped hairline was just my natural hairline, however i saw a few pictures of me where you could clearly see that my hair was tinning at my temples( I will post some photos below) . I believe that my mother caused my temple hairs to vanish because she used to always cut my hair against the hairline. Just like some people get a line up at the barber, the only diffrence is my mother wasn't trying to do a line up. She used alot more pressing force and pushed the trimmer all the way back. On top of that she also cut my hairline from the side. So she start from the side of my head and go straight to the mid section of my hairline( i hop it's clear enough)
I also didn't use special hairproducts for afro hair, my hair was very dry which made it more prone to breaking.
At these pictures i am 5 years old, and you can see that my hair is thin at the temples.

(you can see a difrence between the hair density at my temple and the rest of the hairs).
Right now my hairline is like that but without the thinning hairs at the temple.
Do you guys think my hairline at those pictures was already maturing at a early age, or is it caused by something else?
