Hairloss Due to SEBUM?

What is the difference between Sebum induced hairloss and Dht? I heard there is dht in the sebum.

But I noticed when I dont wash my hair for a few days I lose more hair then when I wash? and my scalp is oily.

Is it possible that my hairloss is caused by sebum clogging my pores? I also have body acne? it seems when I get like those little hard black head oil things in my scalp sometimes and when hairs fall out it has those hard dried oil bulbs on the end.

Hi Tony

Sebums have a tiny amount of DHT.
I recommend you Jojoba oil as a lotion at bedtime, and then wash your hair next morning. It is useful add certain essential oils like sage, thyme an others. It is possible use the same concoction in acne areas.

There is a study of Dr. Rushton where can be read:

Many individuals reduced their shampooing frequency due to fear of losing more hair but this increases the amount seen in subsequent shampoos fuelling their fear of going bald and adversely affecting their quality of life

Nutritional factors and hair loss.
Rushton DH.

The literature reveals what little is known about nutritional factors and hair loss. What we do know emanates from studies in protein-energy malnutrition, starvation, and eating disorders. In otherwise healthy individuals, nutritional factors appear to play a role in subjects with persistent increased hair shedding. HÃ¥rd, 40 years ago, demonstrated the importance of iron supplements in nonanaemic, iron-deficient women with hair loss. Serum ferritin concentrations provide a good assessment of an individual's iron status. Rushton et al. first published data showing that serum ferritin concentrations were a factor in female hair loss and, 10 years later, Kantor et al. confirmed this association. What level of serum ferritin to employ in subjects with increased hair shedding is yet to be definitively established but 70 micro g/L, with a normal erythrocyte sedimentation rate (< 10 mm/h), is recommended. The role of the essential amino acid, l-lysine in hair loss also appears to be important. Double-blind data confirmed the findings of an open study in women with increased hair shedding, where a significant proportion responded to l-lysine and iron therapy. There is no evidence to support the popular view that low serum zinc concentrations cause hair loss. Excessive intakes of nutritional supplements may actually cause hair loss and are not recommended in the absence of a proven deficiency. While nutritional factors affect the hair directly, one should not forget that they also affect the skin. In the management of subjects with hair loss, eliminating scaling problems is important as is good hair care advice and the need to explain fully the hair cycle. Many individuals reduced their shampooing frequency due to fear of losing more hair but this increases the amount seen in subsequent shampoos fuelling their fear of going bald and adversely affecting their quality of life.

There's a little DHT in sebum, but sebum almost certainly has nothing to do with hairloss.

That happens to everyone. A certain number of hairs on your scalp loosen each day just as a normal part of your hair cycling. If you leave your scalp alone and don't wash it or apply friction to it in any other way for several days, a lot of those loosened hairs will tend to STAY there and slowly accumulate; then when you _do_ happen to wash it again a few days after that, they all tend to come out at once, making you think, "Oh my God, I'm suddenly losing my hair!!" :)

In reality, of course, all that's happening is that you're sort of "saving up" a few days' worth of lost hairs, and releasing them all at once. Don't worry about it. It's natural.

I am not sure if my hairloss shedd is do to shock and trauma.

I noticed when I was under stress I start shedding more...one time when I got shocked that my mom woke me up in the middle of the night banging on my door cause something happen I was in shock! seriously my heart pounded so hard...and for a few months after that I had trauma I think because I would wake up all of a sudden in the middle of the night as if to see if something was wrong outside...and my heart would pound fast I noticed Plenty of hair would fall out like 40-50 hairs a day and I was 25 years old...I always shedded since I was 17 but it seemed the hair grew back my hair was always thick. Right now I have been able to sleep better and dont wake up out of the blue anymore like that and I notice that hair doesnt come out when I shampoo any more the only hairs that fall out is when after I shower I comb my scalp and hair and those little short hairs come out maybe like 10 max along with plenty of dried skin..

3000 mg of MSM, Fish oil, Nizoral 2-3 days and nano shampoo left in 5-6 minutes in the shower.

Hi Tony;

An intense shock can derived in hair loss, but it is different of common alopecia, by example the pattern of hair loss is over all scalp, not only in certains areas.

have a good rest, outside is OK. Don´t worry.
