So ive been loosing alot of hair over the past year or so. less than about a year and a half ago I had a full head of hair with no sign of receeding or thinning.

I started loosing my hair after coming to uni almost a year and a half ago moving to a hardwater area from softwater at home. Ive been stressed ever since I joined uni as Ive not been having a good time at all. My diet isnt so good, being at uni its difficult to have a good one, skipping mwals etc. Fitness wise Ive not been anywhere as fit but Ive not been overweight or very unhealthy either. Im 19 btw

My scalp feels very itchy most of the time and and rough and dry when I touch it . I did have a pretty severe dandruff condition like 5 years ago to which the doctor prescribed me a Ketoconazole shampoo nizoral which did fix the dandruff issue at the time. Alot of hair falls when ever I take a shower. When ever I run my fingers through my scalp, theres hair trapped in my fingers most of the time. So it could even be a fungal infection induced hairloss?

Im considering getting a short buzzcut and derma rolling the heck out of my scalp and oil massaging to try to regrow.

Just to add non of the men in my family have/did go through male pattern baldness from both sides of the family. Even my grandparents didnt so it seems likely to me that it is not male pattern baldness. It must be related to stress(telogen effluvium), nutrition or a fungal infection maybe?

Does anyone have any idea of what condition I may have considering the info above and the pics?

Could be stress induced but I personally think it is male pattern baldness , you could try finasteride.

Been on fun for 8.5 months, still seeing recession.
Should I add minixidil or wait until the 12 month mark to see if hair fall stops?

Get on finasteride before it's too late
I wouldve gone on it as soon as this sh*t started, personally Id rather go for a natural treatment ive not heard much positive from it either including minoxidil

99% it is male pattern baldness. natural treatments are all myth and waste of time. finasteride and minoxidil are the only Saviors. Risk with finasteride is real. Your call to take the chance or not.

also dude, the uni, stress, bad diet etc I have too gone through all this and finally concluded it has nothing to do with all this, its in our genes to start losing hair at this point of time. so sad, but true.

Id rather use demarolling and massage with oils, apparently all minoxidil does is increase blood flow but the hairs get dependent on it so id rather not use it, finasteride apparently messes with your hormones so yh

Dude there must be correlation tho, cant be a conincident that for many people it starts at a stressful time and for sure having a bad diet is also a big factor imo. It could be that male pattern baldness is a temp thing.

Couldn't it be stress? I remember when I've been studying, it was hell of a time in my life. I've been spending days and nights writing countless assignments and all those deadlines make huge pressure. And these days you guys have https://studymoose.com/ and similar services. I feel envy.
Thats what I hope it is, stress. I hope I get my hair back.

Ahh I remember these days when I was blissfully ignorant...it's just stress it'll grow back I told myself, also started during my college years.

Take proven treatments or watch it deteriorate, no other alternatives unfortunately.

I feel like it cant be a conincident to start loosing hair specifically when i started uni/college when my diet has been the worst and stress high af.

Dude you’re in denial . It’s male pattern baldness. Stress can certainly make it much worse though, as inflammation can sky rocket with increased stress. Your options for containing the actual problem are hormonal drugs (oral or topical) . As you’ve said minoxidil just reinstates blood flow to buy you some time - there’s probably other mechanisms as well but mainly speaking that’s it.

Dermarolling and oils won’t do anything.

Dude, I hope it grows back, I wouldn't wish male pattern baldness on my worst enemy.

I'm just being realistic, I wouldn't want you to lose more hair when you could do something about it earlier.
